Tax Help – Free Virtual Town Hall

Sponsored by the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York.
The program is free to attend and open to the public.
Staff attorneys from the Clinic will discuss common income tax issues including COVID-19 stimulus checks, options to consider if you can’t afford to pay your tax bills, and tax scams to beware of, among other things.

Our LITC serves the following counties: Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, St. Lawrence, Warren and Washington Counties, and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.
The clinic does not generally provide tax return preparation.

A taxpayer’s decision to obtain representation from an LITC will not result in the IRS giving preferential treatment in handling the dispute or problem and will not affect the taxpayer’s rights before the IRS.
